Recruitment is a series of events over two consecutive weeks to allow potential pledges the opportunity to learn more about Alpha Kappa Psi while in turn allowing the members of Zeta Lambda to learn more about interested candidates.

PNMS must have at least a 3.0 GPA to be eligible for a bid. In addition, each PNM must attend the minimum number of recruitment events; at least 2 out of the 3 first week events (including Group Interviews). If invited to the second week of recruitment, all PNMs must attend the 2nd Interview. Lastly, we ask all PNMs to submit an application by September 3rd at 5pm so we may holistically consider them. This application can be found via the Rush Portal button below, or on QR codes we will display each night of rush.

The pledge process consists of an 8-week process where every pledge attends weekly professional development meetings, completes informal conversations with brothers and alumni, and obtains credits for attending Professional, Social, and Service credits. People often consider the pledge process as adding a 3-credit hour course to their workload but with evening commitments.

During a pledge’s semester, they will be expected to pay $365, split into two payments of $182.50 due at the beginning and end of pledging, which includes induction/initation fees, fraternity insurance, pledge programming materials, pledge retreat, and other activities that brothers and pledges may attend.

The semester following the pledge process and each semester thereafter, a member will be expected to pay $265, which encompasses both national fees and chapter fees.

Payment plans and scholarships are offered to members. Financial hardship should NOT be a reason why you are not a member of our chapter.

Attending all recruitment events is not mandatory. To be considered for an invitation to the second week of recruitment, candidates are only required to attend one of the two first week’s recruitment events and participate in a first-round group interview. If invited for the second week, it is expected that candidates participate in the one-on-one interview. However, while it is not obligatory to attend every event, we highly encourage PNMs to do so, as it provides an excellent opportunity for members to get to know you better.

Certainly! Reapplying is encouraged if you did not receive a bid the first time. Many of our current members faced a similar situation before joining. We value PNMs who demonstrate determination and personal growth. Your previous experience does not diminish your potential as a member. If you are motivated to be a part of our brotherhood, we encourage you to apply again and showcase your commitment and passion.

Yes. A number of our members are involved in Greek organizations on campus. However, it is important to keep in mind that Alpha Kappa Psi is a significant time commitment, especially during pledgeship. We encourage you to use the recruitment process as an opportunity to ask members about their experiences balancing other student organizations.

Not at all! Our chapter includes students majoring in business, engineering, communication arts, political science, computer science, medicine/sciences, and more.

During the first week of recruitment, casual attire is expected at the Set Sail Social, business casual attire is expected at the Group Interview, and business casual attire is expected at Meet The Crew.

For the second week of recruitment, business casual attire is expected at the One-on-one Interview and casual attire is expected at the Philanthropy Night.
